This is what a Grassland biome looks like. It has few trees and many different kinds of grasses. It gets very little rainfall, 10-30 inches to be precise. In January it reaches to about 20 degrease and in July it is about 70 degrease.
Animals
This is a Prairie dog that lives in a Grassland. There are other animals like: Wolves, bison, zebra, coyote, bobcat, American Bald Eagle, and many others.
Plants
There are many wildflowers in grasslands, but not many trees. Flowering plants grow amongst the grasses, generally flowering in spring and summer.
Plant Adaptations
This is how the grass adapts to the grassland biomes. Unlike most plants, grasses grow from the base, not the top. As these stems spread out, shoots grow up and produce leaves. The deep, spreading root systems often mat together thickly making sure that even in drought, the plants are able to get water.
Interesting Fact
Grassland biomes are normally situated between a forest and a desert. In fact, grasslands surround every desert in Asia.
